We left Christmas around 7:30. On arrival at Barra do Cunhaú the first impression is of being in front of a huge freshwater lagoon instead of the Atlantic Ocean. The river, protected from the winds, is calm and almost without waves. There are five kilometers of dunes and beaches through which the Curimataú and Catú rivers meander, with rich vegetation. There is also one of the ecological jewels of the Potiguar coast, a large mangrove that acts as a nursery for oysters, crabs and other marine animals.
To get to know the region better, there is a boat trip along the river, getting to know the mangrove swamp, watching the crab hunting and living unparalleled experiences.
After the optional boat trip, we had a good time at Cunhaú beach, where we have the restaurant as a fulcrum.
