We will launch into the Indian river lagoon for a leisurely 90 minute paddle to see one of the oldest lifeforms on the planet. The Ctenophora (Comb-Jellyfish) is a predator that moves thru the waters of our bioluminescent bay with microscopic hairs called cilia. This predator will produce a bioluminescent discharge when disturbed. Once the waters of our lagoon drop below 76 degrees we will experience large blooms of these gelatinous beauties. Along with comb-jellyfish, we have a multitude of wildlife such as manatee, dolphin, alligators, wild hogs, otters, bobcats, sharks, and endangered birds that we may encounter while on tour!! Our Comb-jellyfish season generally lasts from November 1st to April 1st. These are the cooler months of our season, so it makes for pleasant weather to paddle in!
