During this tour we will visit: • Saghmosavank Monastery wich is located in the village of Saghmosavan in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia. Saghmosavank was a significant center for quality scholarship and calligraphy, with an established medieval higher structure of schooling. • Hovhannavank monastery (5th-14th cc.) is a wonderful example of Armenian Apostolic Church architecture, perched atop the Kasakh River in the village of Ohanavan. • Amberd - the 7th century fortress located on the slopes of Mount Aragats in Aragatsotn province. Located 50 km north of Yerevan, the fortress was built to protects its inhabitants and people living in the area against invadors. Amberd is located at an elevation of 2,300m above the sea level and its name means a “fortress in the clouds”.
