Just 10 km north of Dubrovnik, Zaton Bay is a place of natural beauty and tranquility, free of Dubrovnik's tourist crowds
The deep bay offers kayakers natural protection from Dalmatia’s coastal winds and calm, safe paddling waters, without the busy motorboat traffic around Dubrovnik and Lokrum Island. A paddle around the bay reveals an old stone mill fed by bubbly underground springs, aristocratic villas from Dubrovnik’s Renaissance, and three small sea side villages. Beyond the bay lies the open sea with unobstructed views of Dubrovnik and the Elafiti Islands. Paddle along towering limestone cliffs that rise abruptly from the sea to a secluded cove off limits to motor boats—the perfect spot to swim, snorkel, cliff-jump, and relax.

Walking directions from Old Town to the AKT office (roughly a 120 stair climb)
From Pile Gate (the western entrance to Old City and bus stop side), walk towards the Hilton Imperial Hotel (located on the north side of the street). Climb the set of stairs just past the Konzum market, bus stop, and pizzeria/café-bar. At the top of the stairs turn right in front of the Hilton sign- the hotel will be on your left. Continue on the narrow lane/street (stairs) to the Hilton's back wall. Cross over the pedestrian street (you will see a blue AKT sign); you are now at the bottom of Zrinsko Frankopanska Street. Continue up the stairs to the AKT office at #6 on the right. Enter through the green metal door next to the Adriatic Kayak Tours sign. The AKT Office is 10 meters ahead- the terrace with kayak gear all over the place.
It’s also possible to reach the office from Zagrebacka Road, in which case you walk down roughly 120 steps. There is a crosswalk where Zagrebacka intersects Zrinsko Frankopanska (no street sign). Across Zagrebacka is a series of enclosed parking garage spaces with green doors. Head down the steps. A road comes in from the right and another from the left. Continue down the stairs to #6, on your left.
