This is because Berhan’s father is from the Black Sea area, while her mother is from the Aegean Coast, so Berhan grew up learning to cook local Turkish dishes from both these regions, as well as Anatolian cuisine. Berhan learned to cook from her mother and her grandmother and has been cooking since she was 10 years old. She uses only fresh and organic ingredients, like the olive oil she uses that comes from her olive garden on the Aegean Coast. Turkish cuisine is about vegetables, fish, meat, rice and Turkish meze (like tapas) all cooked in pure olive oil or butter, and Berhan delights in meeting new people and sharing Turkish dishes like these with travelers from around the world.
