The 1970s and 1980s punk music in Slovenia was amazing. It was very unique in the Communist East. And very unique in the whole world! ‘Children of Socialism’, 'Via Ofenziva', ‘Ljubljana Dogs’, ‘Bastards’, ‘Berlin Wall’, ‘Ciao Bitches!’, ‘The Tattletales’ and ‘Niet’, these are just a few names of the bands that were turning an alternative scene into an opposition movement. The Slovenian punk scene was comprised of middle-class and working-class youth that was often beaten up and imprisoned by Communist authorities. However, many of the punk bands were supported by the League of Socialist Youth and were able to release their records on state-controlled labels. Come and join a bike ride back to the socialist punk times, accompanied by amazing music and radical lyrics.
