Enjoy a leisurely hike along a mostly flat disused historic rail line. Find your way through pitch-dark rail tunnels, flashlights supplied. Hear stories of local legends about the river we follow, try to catch a glimpse of a submarine princess or the mischievous water sprite, the Kappa.Watch out for inoshishi wild pigs and local bird life. Munch on homemade trail mix snacks. View rare varieties of cherry blossoms (in season) Enjoy coffee or tea and cookies beside the river. Soak in an onsen hot spring. (optional extra) Sample locally caught wild pork and venison. (vegetarian options available) Note: restaurant is closed on Mondays unless it is a public holiday. This is a rather gentle hike so pretty much anyone can do it! You'll just need reasonable footwear and clothes for the season, and enough water for the hike.
