The hotel was a wooden edifice built in the 19th century as a private home. In 1980 it was derelict and was rebuilt in its original Ottoman style. It was opened as a hotel in July 1990 and since then has offered traditional Turkish hospitality for guests from all over the world. There are 25 rooms at this historical air-conditioned hotel. Guests are welcomed into a lobby with a 24-hour reception service and facilities include a hotel safe, currency exchange and cloakroom. Guests can take advantage of the hotel's WLAN Internet access and for an additional fee, utilise the room and laundry services on offer.

The hotel is centrally located in the Old City, only a few minutes' walk from the Blue Mosque, St. Sophia, Topkapi Palace, the Hippodrome and the other tourist attractions. There is a link to the public transport system about 5 minutes' walk away and a train station about 10 minute's journey from there. Atatürk International Airport is approximately 18 km away and Sabiha Gökçen International Airport is roughly 65 km from the hotel.

The hotel serves a breakfast buffet each morning and both lunch and dinner can be enjoyed à la carte.
