The hotel offers not only breathtaking views of the gorge below the stilted wooden rooms, but also provides panoramic views of the open plains from the main building. The upper escarpment offers majestic craggy rock formations and wide-open grass plains. This is separated from the lower plateau by 600-metre-high cliffs. The lower escarpment is approximately three degrees warmer and comprises of sandveld vegetation and a series of wetlands. For easy access both the lower and upper escarpment have their own separate entrances. The hotel offers guests a restaurant and a bar.
This hotel is situated in the World Heritage Waterberg Biosphere, in the Waterberg region. Less than a 3-hour drive north of Johannesburg, this 22,000 hectare malaria-free reserve boasts five ecosystems. The lodge is on the upper escarpment of Entabeni Safari Conservancy.
Meals can be enjoyed in the dining room and bar area, both with fireplaces, or outside in the Ravineside boma, in the shade of a 100-year-old fig tree next to the swimming pool, in the beautiful gardens or in various other outdoor venues. The lodge offers a selection of dining options ranging from buffets to individually tailored menus for bush braais and picnics.
