Named after the Napoleonic commander who built the earliest roads in Dalmatia, the stylish and elegant Marmont Hotel is steeped in history. Not only that, but it is literally surrounded by history, since it is built within the precinct of Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Yet the hotel forms a bridge between past and present, tradition and modernity, being a harmonious blend of 15th-century stone walls and clean, minimalist lines.
