The hotel takes its name from the nearby Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, the longest canal in the world, flowing from the capital city some 1,794 km south to Hangzhou. Built in 2009, the air-conditioned hotel comprises 331 guest rooms and a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service, hotel safe, currency exchange facilities, cloakroom and lift access. Additionally, there are three restaurants, a bar and lobby lounge, as well as seven meeting rooms, a business centre, WLAN Internet access and the Club Lounge in the hotel.
