Each of the 21 independent units is designed to resemble different tribes of Africa. The air-conditioned bungalow complex also comprises a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service, a hotel safe, a cloakroom, a bar, a pub and a restaurant. Room and laundry services are provided, and those arriving by car may leave their vehicle in the car park. The lodge consists of twenty three units, the exterior of each resembling the different tribal people of Southern Africa, including Zulu, Swazi, North Sotho, Xhosa, Venda, Tsonga and Ndebele.
The bungalow complex is situated in the heart of Zululand, near Hluhluwe, in a tranquil environment, about 290 km from Durban International Airport.
Dumazulu has a huge thatched open area where guests can enjoy an outdoor dining experience, alternatively guests can eat in the lodge restaurant.
