The resort has a unique ambience, and its attention to detail provides guests with an authentic Mea Hong Son experience. As its names implies, it is surrounded by highland - home to ethnic groups that bring a colourful way of life and an abundance of culture and handicrafts to the valley. Since 2001 the resort has been renovated to create a unique style influenced by its Burmese neighbours, the highland communities and traditional Thai craftsmanship.
