This is one of the newest hotels on Sentosa Island, having opened in June 2007. The resort's unique character derives from an exotic blend of colonial architecture and modern design concepts. Special features of the resort include a kids' club and tree house, as well as a cooking school and an artists workshop. The minimalist design lobby is medium in size, has high ceiling, full length glass bringing in the natural day light and limited sitting area.

It offers a unique Siamese dining experience. Silk Road on the Sea is located at Palawan Beach. It is a contemporary restaurant offering signature seafood cuisine from places along the journey Marco Polo took from the North and South China back home to Venice in the 13th Century.
