The layout of the hotel is similar to the ancient cities of the Cultural Triangle where individual dwellings and central public areas are set in rural surroundings and connected by meandering pathways. Situated in the village of Habarana, within the heartland of the Cultural Triangle, the lodge is a convenient base from which to explore the ancient heritage sites of Sigiriya, Dambulla, Polonnaruwa and the Minneriya wildlife sanctuary - all comfortably within an hour's drive. The ancient city of Anuradhapura is 90 minutes away. Habarana is a 4-hour drive from Colombo.

The restaurant is an open space in tune with the architectural vision of blending in with nature. The resident squirrels are so tame that they will literally eat out of your hand. As for the food, there is a selection of western and eastern dishes with a generous supply of particular ethnic dishes.
