Established as a shooting lodge in the Highlands in 1886, this family-friendly hotel was renovated in 2000, with the original lodge's features retained, and affords grounds covering around 1 square kilometre. There are a total of 45 rooms spread over 3 floors, with 35 new luxurious rooms. Facilities include a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk and a lift in addition to a bar a restaurant with 3 highchairs for infants and 2 conference rooms. There is a car park for those arriving at the hotel by car as well as a bicycle storage facility. Room service is available. Outdoor activities and bicycle hire can be arranged for guests with Activity Scotland, who are based nearby. The lobby is medium in size, classical and welcoming. It incorporates a seating area and front desk.

This country house lies on the shores of Loch Rannoch, amidst countryside typical of Scotland, which is filled with deep lakes, winding streams, lush green forests and overlooked by the mighty peak of Schiehallion. The centre of Kinloch Rannoch as well as a bus stop are to be found some 10 minutes walk away and it is around 30 minutes to a selection of bars, restaurants and shopping venues. A nightclub, train station and ski area with cross-country ski trails are to be found about 1 hour's drive away.
